I am facing a unique issue,my router DSL-2750U ( firmware ME_1.16/V2 upgraded from IN_1.06 / HW V1 ) deosnt automatically connect to ethernet WAN ( from Excitel ISP ) after configuration for PPPOE.

1 How to setup PPTP VPN connection with DI-804HV or DI-808HV using Windows PPTP client Make sure your DI-804HV or DI-808HV is running firmware ver.1.40 August 12 or later. You can check firmware version under Status > Device Info: To setup PPTP tunnel in the router go to Home > VPN. Make sure VPN option is ticked as Enabled.

Click on Apply. 2 Click on PPTP Server Settings button. 3 Next to PPTP Server click on Enable option.

Enter Virtual IP of PPTP Server. This virtual IP should be different from your LAN subnet. Under Authentication Protocol select MSCHAP and set MPPE Encryption Mode as Enabled. Enter Tunnel Name and then User Name and Password for the remote client. Click on Apply.

4 The router setup for PPTP connection is now complete. To setup your remote client for PPTP connection you can use Windows built-in PPTP client. We will use Windows XP as an example.
