Jl Audio Serial Number Lookup

I moved from northern California to San Diego, and had movers move my F113 in the original box. I watched the whole move, and they were gentle with it. It then sat in climate controlled storage in San Diego for 3 months, and it now sitting in my house. However, the sub appears electrically dead. When I plug it in there are zero lights.

I called JL Audio tech support, and he said there should be lights on when plugged in and turned on. I called my local dealer, and they want me to bring it in. The thing is so big and heavy that getting it anywhere outside the house will be a monumental task, not to mention renting a pickup or something it can be transported in. It's also on the third floor, so that's two flights of stairs to navigate.

There doesn't seem to be much I can do in terms of troubleshooting. I tried different power cords, tested the wall outlet, turned it off and on, gently tried to shake it, etc. Zero lights or sound. Anyone have ideas? I moved from northern California to San Diego, and had movers move my F113 in the original box. I watched the whole move, and they were gentle with it. Zero lights or sound. Anyone have ideas? Most likely a fuse. The back panel can be removed, but I believe it is 'sealed' into place, so that seal would have to be broken. I would find a local electronics repair company that will come to you, and have them call JL for a walk-through of what needs to be done. I think it would be a pretty easy job for someone comfortable working with electronics, though I'm sure it would void your warranty if you still have one. If you feel like you got less that stellar help from JL call back again.

First thing I thought of was a fuse is blown so I looked on the internet and found several posts that said the fuse is internal. It appears you have to take the back panel off to get to it. I read that to take it apart requires that you take out the screws you have to heat the seal to get it apart. I also read that breaking the seal will void your warranty. If it is still under warranty it sounds like your dealer is your best bet. Hope this helps.
